The show closest to home

CMEF — the China International Medical Equipment Fair — is the largest exhibition of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region, and it is the show where Keling puts the widest range on display. Because both our companies are in the Yangtze River Delta (sales and export in Shanghai, R&D and production in Yangzhou, Jiangsu), the spring Shanghai edition is effectively a home fixture.

For an overseas buyer that has one practical advantage over any other show: you can see the range on Monday and stand in the factory on Wednesday.

Combining the show with a factory visit

We encourage it. A stand tells you what a bed looks like; a factory tells you whether the supplier can actually deliver 400 of them on time. On a Keling factory visit you will normally see:

• the frame fabrication and welding lines, where the bed base and lifting columns are made;
• the powder-coating line and the pre-treatment stages that determine how the finish survives ten years of disinfectant;
• ABS moulding for headboards and side rails;
• electrical assembly and the function test bench, where every actuator, handset and limit switch is exercised before the bed is packed;
• the finished-goods warehouse and the export packing area.

Bring your inspection checklist. Third-party inspections and customer audits are welcome, and we would rather answer a hard question in the factory than in a claim six months later.

What we typically show at CMEF

The Shanghai stand carries the widest selection of the year, because the logistics are trivial. That usually includes specialised models that do not travel to overseas shows: the electric gynaecological birth bed, the manual orthopaedic traction bed, and the full mattress range including the tubular alternating-pressure air mattress.

It is also the easiest place to discuss the rest of the Keling catalogue. The hospital bed range on this website is one of ten product series; the group also manufactures operating tables, operating and examination lights, medical pendants, gynaecology chairs, suction units, X-ray film viewers, oxygen concentrators and compressor nebulisers — nearly 200 varieties in total. If you are equipping a whole department rather than a ward, that breadth is usually the reason buyers start the conversation here.
