Project brief

A rehabilitation centre plans inpatient rooms that support care routines alongside scheduled therapy. Beds must work with the facility's transfer equipment and room layout, but the bed itself is not a rehabilitation treatment. This example gives procurement a way to involve nursing, therapy and facilities staff before choosing electric or manual adjustment.

Procurement requirements

  • Record the surface heights and clearances needed by the facility's approved transfer equipment.
  • Assess caregiver access to controls and rail releases from the intended working positions.
  • Check the room with a wheelchair and visitor chair in their normal locations.

The final bed count, destination, budget and delivery window are project inputs to be supplied by the buyer. No order quantity, customer name or contract value is presented as a fact in this example.

Proposed product shortlist

KL-BC104 offers three electric functions, while KL-BC108 offers three manual functions. Both existing entries list a 450–760 mm height range and a 200 kg safe working load. The shortlist therefore supports a practical comparison of operating method, staff workload and local service resources. A side-rail accessory is only suitable after the complete bed, rail and mattress arrangement is approved.

Room layout and configuration

Use the proposed wheelchair, transfer aid and mattress during a room mock-up. Assess approach angles and storage when equipment is not in use. Ask the supplier for underframe drawings if the facility uses mobile lifting equipment; compatibility should not be inferred from a photograph.

Delivery and implementation plan

Invite both nursing and therapy representatives to sample evaluation. Freeze the mattress, rail and control versions with the bed specification, then document any approved room exceptions. Provide staff with the model-specific operating instructions and a clear contact for maintenance issues.

Agree the MOQ, offered configuration, lead time, Incoterm, destination and responsibility for import documentation in the final quotation. Confirm any market-specific documents against the actual model and destination; this example is not evidence of registration in a particular country.

Acceptance and handover checklist

  • Check access around the furnished bed with the actual transfer equipment.
  • Confirm electrical supply for the electric option or unobstructed crank access for the manual option.
  • Record mattress fit, rail operation and the limits of any approved accessories.
  • Keep the approved specification, packing list, inspection record and maintenance contact together in the project handover file.

Checks must follow the supplied manufacturer instructions and the facility's approved procedures. Record nonconformities and obtain closure before the responsible team releases equipment for use.

Intended outcome and evaluation

The planned deliverable is a bed package accepted by the facility's multidisciplinary team. Mobility improvements, reduced assistance needs and shorter stays are not asserted without real evaluation data.

Request a similar configuration

Send your care setting, intended equipment use, bed quantity, room and doorway dimensions, required functions, destination and preferred delivery date. Include any required accessories and a tender specification or bill of quantities if available. Ask the export team to identify confirmed matches, exceptions and optional items separately.
