Keling Medical has won the bids of countless projects for UNICEF, China's Ministry of Health and the National Population and Family Planning Commission of China. Formal procurement is not an occasional exercise for the company; it is a large part of how the business has grown since 1996.

That experience matters because institutional procurement fails for administrative reasons far more often than technical ones. A bid is disqualified for a missing certificate, an unsigned datasheet or an unanswered clause in a technical annex — not because the bed was wrong.

What we provide to bidders

If you are bidding a tender and intend to supply Keling products, we treat your submission as our submission.

Compliance matrix. Send us the technical annex and we will map it clause by clause: comply / exceed / does not comply, with the evidencing document named for each line. We state non-compliance openly. A bid that overstates compliance and is caught at evaluation costs you more than one you lose honestly.

Signed, dated documentation. Current CE certificate, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certificates, Declaration of Conformity for the specific model, and a signed technical datasheet — not a website print-out. The certifications page shows what each standard covers and how to request the current originals.

Manufacturer's authorisation. Where the tender requires a letter authorising you to represent the manufacturer for that specific tender, we issue it.

Capacity confirmation. Where the tender asks for evidence that the quantity can actually be produced in the delivery window, we confirm it against real line capacity — Keling manufactures 30,000 medical appliances a year across its ten product series.

Packing and logistics data. Carton dimensions, gross weights, units per 20ft and 40HQ container, and HS codes, so your landed-cost calculation and your shipping schedule are built on real figures.

Specifying beds for public health programmes

Public-health and humanitarian procurement has a different optimum from private hospital purchasing. Some practical observations from the models most often specified:

• Manual beds are frequently the right answer. Where mains power is unreliable and technical maintenance is thin, a five-function manual bed delivers the same clinical positioning as an electric bed with none of the electrical failure modes. Specify electric where the clinical case requires it, not by default.
• Two-function electric is often sufficient for general wards. The KL-BC105 gives powered backrest and knee-rest without the cost of height adjustment and tilt.
• Do not omit mattresses from the lot. Beds specified without mattresses arrive and sit unused. The segmented three-section mattress matches the articulation of the bed surface, which a flat mattress does not.
• Include paediatric provision. Maternal and child health programmes need child cots and infant cribs, and these are almost always under-specified relative to actual ward need.
• Budget for spares in the same lot. Castors, side rails and headboards fail first. Buying them with the beds costs a fraction of sourcing them in three years.
