KIHE, Kazakhstan

The Kazakhstan International Healthcare Exhibition in Almaty is Keling's route into Central Asia — a region of state-funded hospital modernisation programmes where tender documentation matters as much as the product.

Central Asia buys differently

KIHE in Almaty is the principal healthcare exhibition for Kazakhstan and, in practice, the meeting point for the wider Central Asian and CIS market. The buying pattern here is distinct from the Gulf or Southeast Asia: a large share of hospital equipment is bought through state tenders, often bundled — beds, mattresses, bedside units and rails in one lot — and evaluated on a documentation score as well as on price.

That changes what a manufacturer has to be good at. Winning here is less about having the cheapest bed and more about being able to evidence, clause by clause, that the bed meets the specification.

What we prepare for tender-driven markets

For customers bidding public tenders we supply a documentation pack rather than a brochure:

  • Signed technical datasheets per model, with every dimension, angle and load figure stated, so the evaluator can tick the specification line by line.
  • CE certificate, ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certificates, current and dated — see the certifications page for what each one covers.
  • Declaration of Conformity referencing the applicable standards for the specific model.
  • Compliance matrix — we will map the tender's technical annex against our models and tell you honestly where we comply, where we exceed and where we do not.
  • Certificate of Origin, HS codes, packing list and commercial invoice prepared by the Shanghai export office.

Keling has experience of this kind of procurement: the company has won bids on projects for UNICEF, China's Ministry of Health and the National Population and Family Planning Commission of China.

Models that suit the region

Central Asian general-ward tenders tend to specify robust manual and basic electric beds rather than high-end ICU platforms, with strong requirements on finish durability and spare-part availability. The models most often shortlisted from our range are:

Spare parts are part of the bid

One point worth making to any Central Asian buyer: ask your supplier to quote a spare-parts schedule alongside the beds. Castors, side-rail latches, ABS headboards, handsets and actuators are the components that fail first, and a bed with no available spares is scrapped years early. Keling maintains the accessory and parts lines shown in the bed accessories catalogue precisely so that beds stay serviceable for their whole working life.
